Fronius Wifi Reconnect
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following ready:
- Physical access to your Fronius inverter.
- A Wi-Fi–enabled device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
- A bit of patience — the reconnection process usually takes around 10 minutes.
On Your Fronius Inverter
- Stand in front of the inverter.
You should see the current solar production displayed on the screen. Press the BACK button to access the main menu carousel. - Enter Setup Mode.
Press Button 2 to scroll through the menu until you find SETUP, then press Button 4 to enter. - Activate the Wi-Fi Access Point.
Use Button 2 to scroll down to WiFi Access Point, then press Button 4 to select it.
When prompted with “Activate WiFi AP?”, press Button 4 again to confirm.
The inverter will now enable its Wi-Fi access point and display the connection details on screen. - Connect Your Device to the Inverter’s Wi-Fi.
On your Wi-Fi–enabled device, open Settings → Wi-Fi and look for the network named FRONIUS_240.#####.
Enter the password shown on the inverter display (default is 12345678) and tap Join. - Access the Inverter Interface.
Once connected, open your preferred web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.) and type 192.168.250.181 into the address bar.
When the Fronius interface loads, open the Settings menu on the right-hand side, then choose Network from the left menu. - Set Up the Network Connection.
You’ll see two sections: Connection Mode (left) and WLAN Settings (right).- Under Connection Mode, select Solar.web via WLAN.
- Under WLAN Settings, choose the Wi-Fi network you want your inverter to connect to.
- Enter Your Wi-Fi Credentials.
Click the Set… button located below the list of available networks.
In the WLAN Connection pop-up, enter your Wi-Fi password, click Save, then select Connect. - Finalise the Connection.
The inverter will attempt to connect to your chosen network. Once successful, you’ll see a status page showing your modem connected but “No internet connection” (this is normal).
Finally, go back to your device’s Wi-Fi settings, disconnect from the Fronius inverter, and reconnect to your usual Wi-Fi network.
